With over 25 years of experience as a continuity-of-care midwife and a homebirthing woman myself, I offer personalised care that honours your whole self, body, mind, and spirit. Whether you are planning a homebirth or navigating the maternity system, my care is grounded in trust, connection, and informed choice. Together, we shape a care journey that feels right for you.

All services are offered in the comfort of your home on the Sunshine Coast, with Medicare rebates available for many offerings. I also provide referrals for diagnostic services and collaborate with GPs, hospitals, and specialists when needed, ensuring well-rounded support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Alongside caring for women and families, I also offer mentoring for midwives, both in person and online. I am deeply committed to supporting midwives on their journey toward authentic, values aligned practice - learning, reflecting, and growing together in service of women and families.

Offerings

Online Sessions

Please note that as I am still a current Midwife, I am on call 24/7 for births so I may have to reschedule our appointment. As much notice as possible will be provided. I am not a counsellor and do not have a formal mental health background. The support I offer is grounded in my midwifery experience, holding space, and holistic care. This session does not provide individualised advice on your clinical pregnancy care, as I am not your care provider. What I can offer is guidance toward information, resources, and options that may support you in making informed choices.

More Stories of Birth & Mentorship

A Note of Gratitude

I am so grateful for the trust and openness of everyone who has shared their journey with me. These stories remind me what a privilege it is to walk alongside women and families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

I have been very fortunate to be welcomed into the homebirth space with Sal through the student midwifery continuity of care program.

Sal has been warm and welcoming from the outset, and her positive energy is palpable. Sal’s approach to midwifery is gentle and informed by the context of the woman.

Sal models high quality care and always makes sure I am part of the team. It is a pleasure to be mentored by her.

Kiah, Student Midwife Mentee

Sally supported me in my home for all antenatal and postnatal appointments, and from the very beginning she brought a sense of calm, safety, and deep grounding into the space. Her presence alone felt regulating, steady, warm, and reassuring, especially in the more vulnerable moments of pregnancy and postpartum.

Sally holds such a beautiful balance of clinical knowledge, intuition, and wisdom. I always felt supported, listened to, and respected in my choices. Nothing ever felt rushed or clinical in the cold sense — her care was deeply human, relational, and heart-led.

The rituals I was offered were incredibly meaningful. Sally’s postpartum “closing of the bones” ceremonies after both of my pregnancies were profoundly nurturing and emotional experiences that helped me feel held, honoured, and gently supported in my transition into motherhood again. Those moments are something I will carry with me forever.

Didi

I had been looking for a midwife that would allow me to follow my feeling through pregnancy and birth and let it unfold naturally. Sal was great, she let me lead and I felt completely comfortable within the whole process. She brings her knowledge to the table with grace and understanding with not an ounce of ego.

Erin

As a mother of three who experienced peaceful and empowering home births, I felt a deep call to support other families in experiencing the profound journey of birth. I looked at many doula courses and saw that what was truly lacking was the opportunity to be with women - to walk alongside them through the whole journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Being mentored by Sal gave me the chance to witness birth firsthand and gain true experiential knowledge from an experienced and inspiring private midwife. The most valuable part of my time working alongside Sal was having her there to reflect with and answer my questions.

Sal always honoured me and what I had to offer, and our relationship felt deeply reciprocal. I felt seen and heard, yet also fully guided. I now have a deep awareness of the importance of a strong support team around a mother and the confidence to contribute meaningfully.

Jess, Continuity of care Mentee

We feel so thankful to have connected with Sal and be supported by her in our second pregnancy and birth at home. Sal is professional, passionate, warm and so knowledgeable.

We felt listened to and supported in pregnancy, birth and postpartum and I can’t imagine anyone else in that role for us.

Ilona

We have had Sal alongside us for two of our amazing beautiful births at home. She is a wonderful midwife and person. Always putting the needs of the mother and family first. She is an advocate for normal birth and a Keeper of the birth space.

Sal has wonderful communication and interpersonal skills and what you see is what you get..a friend and professional to walk with you and your loved ones along the special birth journey. If you’re looking for a truely genuine and caring, professional and friendly midwife, reach out to midwife Sal..

Tamrin

We had the absolute privilege of having Sal (and Dawn) as our midwives for our homebirth in 2023! What an amazing experience!

I am so thankful for all her support, kindness and knowledge! I felt empowered and respected throughout the entire process. Thank you Sal for the wonderful service you provide. I can say with confidence that if you choose to use Sal, you will be equally as blessed as we were.

Bec & Cliff

Sal was an amazing support for myself and our family during pregnancy/birth. She made me feel extremely comfortable, and left no questions unanswered. She had a wealth of knowledge which instilled confidence in me going into birth.

Although we were planning for a homebirth and ended up in hospital, Sal was very supportive & encouraging during this process, she stayed as our support person during the entire labour and helped me stay true to my birth plan.

Tegan & Angus

With Sal, I instantly felt safe, cared for, and genuinely listened to. The fact that she travels out to you, rather than you going to her, made a big difference for me as I was suffering with HG.

During the actual homebirth, Sal empowered me to tap into my own wisdom of what I wanted/needed to do. It was MY birth, and she was there supporting ME. It went perfectly - I wouldn’t change a thing about it and I would do it again in a heartbeat (yes, really!)
